Something very extraordinary happened to us today, we are grateful to announce that our debut, self titled album has been voted onto the 2012 Polaris Music Prize long list. This is a true Canadian honour for us to be nominated by an amazing panel and along side such talented fellow musicians. To catch you up to speed for those who may not be as familiar with the prize, Polaris is a not-for-profit organization that honours, celebrates and rewards creativity and diversity in Canadian recorded music. Polaris recognizes and markets albums of the highest artistic integrity, without regard to musical genre, professional affiliation, or sales history. It is adjudicated by selected music journalists, broadcasters and bloggers. Seeing as our first album only came out a small matter of months ago it is a great reward to be recognized to this degree and to be nominated alongside some amazing talent such as Leonard Cohen, Blackie and The Rodeo Kings, Drake, Grimes, Cadence Weapon and The Weeknd. Until the short list is announced on July 17th we will soak up this special moment. Thank you to everyone who has downloaded our album and continues to share it, we are extremely grateful for your support.
